Separation and recovery of construction debris

Circular economyEnel

Works on the power grid, including underground chamber construction, electrical terminal installation, light post installation, or power substation extensions, generate debris as waste. Debris is currently removed from its point of origin and transported for final disposal to authorized waste manager sites.

Enel is interested in testing new technology to be incorporated at the debris generation point, to efficiently separate and recover different materials like earth, glass, ceramic, and plastic, among others, that could be reused as raw materials or recycled to minimize environmental impact.

What we are looking for?

Our main goal is to find new ways of separating and recovering raw materials for construction from debris on-site or before final disposal. By doing so, we believe we can advance our transition to a circular model for debris treatment.
